BOTOX is an FDA-approved neuromodulator injected into our muscles and used to temporarily improve the appearance of lines caused by dynamic and static wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by repetitive facial movements such as smiling, frowning, squinting and mouth puckering. These wrinkles are smoothed or eliminated in some cases by applying Botox or Dysport.

In properly administered doses, Botox also visibly improves the appearance of static wrinkles caused by the natural skin folds, accentuated due to the loss of tissue volume, collagen and elasticity during our older ages. Dynamic wrinkles usually appear after the age of 25 while static wrinkles start at 35 in well-cared skin.
