At Cosmetica Plastic Surgery & Anti-Aging, our team offers breast reduction surgery, (clinically known as a mammaplasty) to decrease pain, reduce size, and proportion breasts. The breast reduction is typically done with three small incisions where the surgeon will remove excess tissue, fat, skin and shifts the nipple-areola complex to a higher position. Liposuction may be used to help improve the contours around the breasts.
A Keyhole Incision:
This incision is made around the areola and down the breast crease. The breast tissue is removed with liposuction. This procedure is used for breast that have a moderate amount of sagging.
An Anchor Incision:
This incision is made around the areola, down to the breast crease, and continues horizontally along the crease. This technique is for women with a severe amount of sagging, and is a technique used in large-volume breast reductions.
Liposuction may be used for women with fatty breasts that just need a minor-to-moderate reduction.
Breast reduction is a common cosmetic procedure. Your procedure will take place safely & comfortably as an outpatient in our AAAHC accredited facility, adjoining the office.
You will need to wear a special bra for about 6 weeks & avoid anything strenuous for 4 wks.
The price of the breast reduction will depend on how extensive your procedure will be. The difference in procedure will depend on the current state of the breast as well as the aesthetic desires of the patient. At your consultation, our team will take your goals and current body type in to consideration, when calculating with the cost. Our patients will go over their concerns and desires with our specialist as he creates a treatment plan.
You will need to be off blood thinners and ensure that your blood pressure is well controlled. You may require medical clearance from your family doctor depending on your age & your health.
IV sedation along with numbing medicine makes this procedure well tolerated and safer than general anesthesia.
After you are sedated, our specialist will remove a porting of the lower aspect of the breasts and advance the nipples and their blood supply to the most desirable position. Some women elect to have a silicone or saline breast implant placed at the same time as a breast reduction procedure. Your incisions will be closed with absorbable sutures that will not need to be removed.
The day after the procedure.
For a breast reduction, patients should have fully developed breasts and are finished having children and breastfeeding. To make sure that this procedure will help you, consult with a doctor.
You can now have the breasts you have always dreamed of! Breast reduction will improve the appearance of large droopy breasts, and restore your breasts to a more youthful position. You will also appreciate the relief of neck & shoulder pain and no longer experience grooving from bra straps. You will appreciate a significant improvement in your shape & feel better about yourself after this popular body contouring procedure.
There’s a risk of bleeding, especially if you have not stopped Aspirin & NSAID’S before the procedure. There’s a small risk of impairment of the blood supply of the nipple and a chance of asymmetry.
There will be some pain requiring the use of a narcotic for the first several days.
